The night before we left Melbourne, after a few recommendations, we decided to pass through Canberra on our drive to Sydney.

It’s about an 11 hour drive to Sydney so we stopped about half way to rest for the night. We stayed in a cute little motel in the town of Albury, and ate a nice dinner by the river. The next day, we headed to Canberra, the Capital of Australia. I bet none of you guessed that Canberra was the Capital of AU. It‘s a lovely town of mostly newer buildings. The government buildings were modern, and there were many memorials and museums.

Unfortunately, we were just passing through, so were only able to see a few of the sites that we could drive to, including the Governor’s residence It happened to be by some nice lakes and a golf course with lots of kangaroos. Unfortunately, it was the middle of the day, so the kangaroos were just lounging around as usual. 🦘

We also went to the top of Majura hill which overlooks the entire city. What a view. There was a cart serving wine, which was a nice idea if it weren’t for the fact that there were no bathrooms. We passed on the wine! 😀🍷

We then hit the road again, headed for Sydney. A city that has been high on both of our bucket lists!!
