Enjoying friends & family in Colorado

June 12th, we drove from the Grand Tetons to Grand Junction, CO, where we stayed with Jos’ friends Amy and Eric. They have a beautiful place, with a balcony with a view, and a very nice spare bedroom. Very nice of them to allow us to stay for a couple of days... thanks, guys!!

We visited a couple of nice breweries, had some great food, including a bike ride to a fabulous pizza place on a hip main street in town.

We also finally got some nice, summer weather with temps in the 80s!!

We broke up the drive to Denver with a one night stop in the heart of ski country, and stayed in Beaver Creek, CO. We enjoyed some good food, wine and a little bit of fresh mountain air! We also got in a good run along a beautiful river which runs through the town of Avon. We also spent a few hours up at Beaver Creek base ski area browsing the shops in the off season.

Then on to Denver to see Jos’ cousin Debbie, her husband John and their family (Laura, Sarah and Caroline). Three wonderful girls and two nice cats. Yes, Jim got some more cat time while Jos kept her distance. 😀🐈. The whole family loves games, so we played several rounds of Skip-bo, Yahtzee, and a few others. The kids won most of the games. We had a wonderful time talking and sharing family stories. They were also so nice to allow us to store all of our stuff at their house while we flew to Michigan for Jos’ mom’s birthday. We would return the following weekend for John’s birthday 🎂and more games!!

Trip recap: In 5 weeks, we have put 4,250 miles on Jim’s car: more than he put on it over the past 4 years! We’ve been in 8 states, and 4 National Parks so far, enjoying food, drinks and quality time with many great friends and family. We love you all. 🌈💕
