Family emergency - June/July

Although we knew these posts would track behind our real time location, some of you may be wondering about the long silence...

Jim’s brother Mark — who we just had a wonderful time visiting in May — fell ill with severe pneumonia, and things became very serious very fast once complications arose.

We are now back in Oahu to be with Mark and his wife Alison. Jim’s & Mark’s mother, and Mark’s daughter and son have also flown in.

After a short battle with pneumonia and sepsis my brother, Mark pasted away on July 16th. My brother raised 2 wonderful kids and was married for 25 years. He was fortunate to live his last 2 years in Hawaii. He was a great disk golf player....yes, for us older folks, frisbee golf. It is a very popular sport now

RIP brother. 9/19/63 - 7/16/19

We spent the next week + on Oahu helping my sister-in-law. We flew back to Michigan at the end of July to resume the rod trip.
